Cleaner App Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the CleaningMetrics Cleaner mobile app (the “App”) collects, uses, and protects your information. The App is used by cleaners to view assigned jobs, check in at job sites, capture before/after photos, manage their schedule, and receive their pay. It is operated by CleaningMetrics on behalf of the cleaning business (“your employer”) that invited you.

Information we collect

The App collects only what it needs to do your job:

  • Account information. Your name and email address, used to sign you in and identify you to your employer. Authentication is handled securely; the App never stores your password in plain text.
  • Location. Your device location is read only at the moment you tap “Check in” at a job site, to confirm you have arrived. The App does not track your location in the background and does not follow your movements between jobs.
  • Camera & photos. When you add before/after photos to a job, the App accesses your camera and/or photo library to capture and upload those images. It only accesses photos you explicitly select or take.
  • Push notification token. A device token used to send you notifications about new jobs, schedule changes, and payouts. You can turn notifications off in your device settings at any time.
  • Job & work data. Job assignments, check-in/completion times, ratings, time-off requests, and earnings, so the App can show your schedule and history.

How we use your information

We use this information solely to operate the service: to show you your jobs and schedule, confirm arrival at job sites, attach photos to jobs, notify you of relevant updates, and process your pay. We do not use your information for advertising.

Payments

Cleaner payouts are handled by Stripe. When you set up direct deposit, your banking details are entered directly with Stripe and are governed by Stripe’s privacy policy. CleaningMetrics never sees or stores your full bank account number.

How we share information

We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal information under any circumstances. Your data is visible to the cleaning business that employs you and is processed by the infrastructure providers that run the service on our behalf — Supabase (database & storage), Stripe (payments), and Vercel (hosting) — solely to provide the App. We may disclose information if required by law.

Data security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and protected at rest. Access is isolated per business through row-level security so one company cannot see another’s data. Sensitive stored credentials are encrypted using AES-256-GCM.

Data retention

We retain your work-related data for as long as your account is active. Job photos and records are kept to provide the service and meet your employer’s record-keeping needs. If your account is removed, related personal data is deleted within 30 days, except where we must retain it to comply with legal or tax obligations.

Your choices

  • Location & camera: you can deny or revoke these permissions in your device settings. Some features (check-in, photos) won’t work without them.
  • Notifications: turn off in your device settings at any time.
  • Access or deletion: contact us to request a copy or deletion of your personal data.

Children

The App is intended for use by adults employed as cleaners and is not directed to children under 16.
